Random thoughts . . . .
1. The more I listen to the Dropkick Murphy's newest CD -- The Warrior's Code -- the more I like it.
2. Once through Whipporwill from the Chateau Teafort Trio, and I am hooked. It goes back in when the Murphys are done.
3. Snagged from San Francisco Chronicle columnist Bruce Jenkins:
"I'd get him out of there right now. I know he's pitching a one-hitter, but he's thrown 105 pitches."
Take a cue from Leo Mazzone, the Braves' pitching coach, and watch the game, not the numbers. Without question, certain pitchers need to be protected, but in the decade of the '90s, there were remarkable pitch counts by David Cone (166), Clemens (165, 164 and 159), Randy Johnson (157, 159 and two at 160) and Curt Schilling (148 in his 1993 World Series shutout for the Phillies). Earlier this season, Livan Hernandez had a 150-pitch start for Washington. Combined long-term damage: None.
4. If you're at the Boston Babydolls' benefit show at Axis tomorrow night, say hello.
5. Best sports blog I have seen in a while is written by the Boston Herald's Mike Ryan
6. I just don't need to read another round of arguments about the constitutionality of the Pledge of Allegiance. Can we just get a Supreme Court ruling, please?
7. Who's better than Andre Agassi?
8. Why I am a such a sucker for Harry Turtledove's alternate Civil War series. Such tripe. So good.

Things that make you go hrmmm.
I think the judge should require him to empty his pockets. If he has money, the case should be dismissed. If it's that important to him that children not be forced into a deist system, then it ought to be worth the inconvience of never carrying money that proclaims a devotion to god that he doesn't feel.
