This, I do not understand.

Having a blast . . .

If you had told me, "Liam, you're gonna go to a smoky, dark place, listen to Industrial music with bass so deep your knees are gonna rattle and drink ginger ale," I would have told you that you were out of your mind.

But you would have been right.

Because of a fervent recommendation from pax_industria and the chance to meet ariaben before she left for parts elsewhere, I made one of my rare treks to Man Ray yesterday. Yes, I wore the black work pants and the Hot Topic black sweater that I bought as my "Man Ray clothes" years ago. The sweater was a bad idea. Must get a black shirt. Thankfully, a friend kept me hydrated.

Had a fabulous time. Saw scorched_angel and a bunch of other folks I know from the SCA.

The warm-up band, Melotron, was from Germany, and thankfully, pax_industria was there to translate. For all I know, the guy was singing about his wife leaving him and taking the dog and the puckup.

Covenenant was amazing. (Or is that were amazing. I read so much rugby news, I am starting to use the British conventions for was/were).

I never made it back to Peabody in time to see John and Sean Corcoran play Irish folk music at Paddy Murphy's Pub. That would have been wuite the trip.

That's OK. I made a new friend, and any day you make a new friend is a good day.

Time to write some scintillating lectures on the Enlightement and the Cold War.
