Strike vote in the morning
Sep. 6th, 2004 11:44 pmAt least that's the way it looks.
We are supposed to have in-service tomorrow, and the kids are suppsoed to start Wednesday, but we have a 7 a.m. union meeting tomorrow.
As far as I can tell, the main fight is over how much of a percentage of our insurance we need to pay and how the raise will be distributed (among new, mid-range and veteran teachers). We worked much of last year without a contract.
We have lost 33 teachers from a high school staff of about 150 from retirements and people going to different schools. All five administrators are new.
I just want to get started with school.
