But very amusing:

The Great LiveJournal
Outage of 2005

During the outage I ranted over the government conspiracy that had destroyed LiveJournal to get rid of all the immoral people. Then was disappointed to learn it was only a power outage.

What did you do?

The joy of teaching

Rough day.

Last period.

Four minutes left.

Wrapping up.

Venting at them about not giving a crap.

Done venting.

"Doogie" gets up, walks across the room

Turns around, rests his buttcheek on Louis' desk

And lets a fart go, right at Louis.

Doesn't understand

When I flip and send him out

Wonder what the dean thought

When she read the Official Report

I love LJ

Only LJ could spawn so many memes off of "What I did during 24 hours without LJ."

I have to be impressed with a company that gives you two free weeks for a 24-hour outage.

Of course it happened during the librarians' convention, which means the Library LJs must be hopping right now.

I am glad I was home for only four hours of it, and that [livejournal.com profile] evilnicola had to suffer through all of it.

Random first sentence of an LJ biography . . . . I am a Christian queer leatherman with a sense of humor and some strong opinions. I love the friends of my friends. Actually, that's a third-generation friend and it's all [livejournal.com profile] sonofabish's fault.

Oh, and I love reading people's LJs when they write nice things about me. It is cool.

Of course, no one has written, "That bastard, [livejournal.com profile] liamstliam, lately. That I know of.

It's 5 degrees in Peabody, Mass., right now and headed to 2 degrees.

It's going to warm up to 24 tomorrow afternoon, when the snow starts.

But the Red Sox website says that at this moment, pitchers and catchers report in 29 days, 16 hours, 3 minutes and 55 seconds

And testing has already started at "Daytoner."

Thirty three days until the Daytona 500.

I don't know why I got into a posting frenzy tonight (other than the fact there was schoolwork to be done).

A couple thoughts.

Am I getting to be an old fart?

I was really bothered by Prince Harry and the Nazi shit. I would have rather hoped he had his nation's collective memory, but he didn't. I was even more surprised by some of the real moralists on a teachers' message board I post on waay too much -- Teachers Net -- defending him, saying he was only a kid.

I say bullshit. If my grandmother stayed with her people during the bombing, I am not gonna wear a frelling Nazi uniform.

That word bothers me more than it should (maybe it's my Catholic guilt that we didn't do what we could to save Jews). Maybe it's my anger that we didn't do enough to save Cambodians, Rwandans and others or aren't bothering with a lot fo other groups right now.

I don't know.

But it bothered me in Zits Sunday when Jeremy referred to his mother as a Kitchen Nazi. That kind of light reference (and the Nazi Rule on the Internet) really bother me.

So does the idiot from the TV station in Las Vegas who, on Saturday, referred to Dr. Martin Luther Coon. They fired his butt.

Wow, it's cold. Three degrees here in Peabody.
