A fine whine to start with.

It's around 5 a.m. on vacation week, but being the good daddy that I am, I just got back from the high school, dropping [livejournal.com profile] evilnicola off for her ROTC trip to Florida.

Step inside my brain . . . )

I take a lot of pictures at SCA events, and I think I am a pretty good photographer. People tell me that too, and I like it.

But this morning, I came to realize that while Iprobably knew it already, there are people who are far, far better.

Best SCA photos I have ever seen . . .

So the Copley Parking Plaza in Boston is checking the trunks of all the cars that pull in, so when I parked there for Boskone, I had to pop the back of the Saturn.

No problem.

But had he looked carefully in the backseat, there were two or three fencing swords, a brace of daggers (well, three daggers) and Macbeth's severed head in a nice bag.

Good guard!

By the way, [livejournal.com profile] evilnicola just called to inform me that it's bright, sunny and warm in Florida. There are three inches of snow outside in Peabody. I informed her that she sucks.

Speaking of Boskone, I never realized that Orson Scott Card was a raging homophobe.

[livejournal.com profile] erik_j_meyer summed it up nicely.

And he taught kids to make trebuchets out of "fun sticks."

Oh, and good-golly, the end of the Daytoner 500 was a classic!

Pitchers and catchers have reported!!!!!!
