Vacation's gonna leave me in an exhausted heap somewhere in the corner of the room.

I love it!

Advance apologies for those who has "real" jobs, but I have probably spent more hours out doing "stuff" since school ended than I did most days last school year.

School ended Tuesday, as did our residence at 93 Forest St. Peabody, which now joins in the annals such great addresses as 29 Village Drve, Ledyard, 13 Terrace Avenue, New London, and the old homesteads at 75 Beach St., and 18 Riverdale Road.

Wednesday: Red Sox win and I go to the Publick House and eat with my favorite waitress, the head brewer at Boston Beer Works and the deejay, who is cool.

Thursday: Almost as much fun as school. Spent about seven hours cleaning the room and the house, [livejournal.com profile] new_man came over and helped carry things, then went over to [Bad username or site: evilnicola' @ livejournal.com]s for dinner and back for early bed. Met [livejournal.com profile] redheadedmuse, too.

Friday: I had asked [livejournal.com profile] sokmunky if she needed help loading books in for GayLaxiCon because she was working the dealers' room. Wound up getting a helper badge, staying all day and getting dinner out of the deal. Very cool and met Cecilia Tan. At the con, I ran into [livejournal.com profile] jpicon and [livejournal.com profile] tpau.

Saturday: Picnic! Picnic! Bought a case of good soda -- various flavors -- and drank it most of the day. At [livejournal.com profile] safirasilv’s I saw, among many others, [livejournal.com profile] erik_j_meyer, [livejournal.com profile] nomadmwe, [livejournal.com profile] siriel, and [livejournal.com profile] redfishie and a lot of other folks whose LJ names I do not know but which probably end in "mwe" or something. I was mundane there. ;) Lots of LARP talk. But enough Scadians and baseball and football fans to make it worth it. Great food, including pork loin.

More fun times at [livejournal.com profile] new_man’s.I had a good chance to talk to [livejournal.com profile] learnedax, the sweet and delicate [livejournal.com profile] rufinia, [livejournal.com profile] mermaidlady, l[livejournal.com profile] akshmi_amman, and a host of others.

Talked to [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastrid, [livejournal.com profile] chrystie69, [livejournal.com profile] sokmunkey and [livejournal.com profile] theresat on the phone at various times.

Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] sonofabish, I left the second picnic at midnight and I didn't want to venture into deepest, darkest Somerville. Besides, I would have been just another 40-something white guy.

Sunday: Not much so far. It feels like a bonus day. I want to make the best of it.

I will be around and fairly free all week, please let me know if you might like to get together.

If I left you off my list, I am sorry!

This is why I love the Red Sox, and why I think "idiotd" is perfectly appropriate.

In fact, in the search for new beginnings, Foulke came out to a new theme song last night. Scrapped was ''Mother," by Danzig, a song Bronson Arroyo chose for the Sox closer. Now Foulke comes jogging out of the bullpen to Hank Williams Jr.'s ''Country Boy Can Survive."

''It's time," Foulke said of the musical change. ''You listen to the song and you'll understand why."
