Odd notes, questions and ramblings . . .
Aug. 21st, 2005 09:05 pmI will put some coherent thoughts down about Pennsic maybe tomorrow.
- Niki and I drove to just past Buffalo and slept there, then drove the rest of the way, getting to Waltham at about 3:30 p.m.
- I came home to an empty house, and I realize just how lonely it was, not being in a camp of 50 and in the close vicinity of 10,000. I went out to get some groceries, and most of the roomies were here when I got back. It was good.
- I have a lot of rolls of film from Pennsic. Any ideas on good Web photo services?
- Final mass archery score was 2401-1261 in favor of the Mid, which had 551.67 archers (don't ask me) to 253.33 for the East. (Someone didn't shoot all three points). The East's average was just slightly better -- 4.98 to 4.35.
- Met a number of people from my LJ friends' list, and a number of others who have LJs.
- Didn't write much for the Pennsic paper -- just three book reviews and one other piece. It was relaxing.
- Does Viagra really have to sponsor the Major League Baseball Comeback Player of the Year award?
- It's really odd to be in the Midwest and pick up the sports section, look at the baseball standings and see the Central Division on top rather than the East.
- Sox did well while I was gone, but I would feel better if the lead over the Yankees was more than four games.
- Chicago Tribune was running a Magic Number for the White Sox, but it hasn't moved much lately.
- I was away from the computer for 10+ days, and I was on site for seven in a row. Both new league records.
