Today is a day for questions and requests.

1. I would like to commission a one-inch wide woven belt, pale yellow. Inkle-loom maybe? I need it in three weeks. (Yes, I am a pain).

2. Can someone remind me of the name of the paint I need to use to clean up a mildewed ceiling?

3. Can someone recommend a housekeeper for a once-a-month gig in Waltham?

4. Does anyone want to go see The Pogues this coming Tuesday in Boston. I have one or two tickets available. They are $50, and that's what I paid for them.

5. I have three Dropkick Murphy tickets left -- two for the Saturday evening show (March 18) and one for Sunday (March 19). They're at cost at $35. [livejournal.com profile] evilnicola and I will be there Saturday night.

6. Does anyone want to go see Melissa Ferrick with me Friday, April 7 in Somerville? There must be some lesbian-folk fans around.

7. Any good references for writing LARPs on the Internet?

1. I don't know how much longer the Maple Caramels are gonna last, but wow are they good!

2. Impulse buy: Unlike certain other friends who just read books in bookstores, I actually buy them. Usually I angst over a purchase for three or four visits, but today, at Barnes & Noble in Burlington, Mass., I had to get "1862," by Robert Conroy. I have -- but have not read -- "1901" in which he posits Kaiser Wilhelm II invading Long Island.

But this one really raises my interest. Alt-Civil War with England allying with the Confederates and the U.S. aiming to attack Canada. I love the Harry Turtledove stuff, and this sounds intriguing.

3. Am I a bad man if I see a front-page headline in the Boston Globe that says, "A leaderless nation learns to adapt," and then find out to my suprise that the article's about Somalia, not the U.S.?

4. One of the coolest SCA sites I ahve ever seen is at Curious George goes to a tournament. Thanks to bunnyjadwiga for the link.

5. Need something to LJ to? [livejournal.com profile] alathea_eastrid has turned me on to Folk Radio. There are a variety of feeds. I am listening to "Contemporary Folk" right now.
