At this writing (5:30 p.m.), there is a mass of storm activity near Binghamton and just crossing the Connecticut line, but it looks from the animations as if it's gonna curve low and away and miss us again.

The temperature had fallen from 91 to 81 in about an hour. I hope the worst is over.

People are posting a two-week forecast for Pennsic that is better than anyone can imagine. Why do I think we're gonna wind up climbing into the Calontiri beer pits.

Was running around today, finalizing Pennsic and pre-vacation things.

Went to:

  • CostCo

  • Wal-Mart

  • CVS Pharmacy

  • Hannaford's

  • Whole Foods

  • Staples

  • Got food

  • Got copies made of stuff to run fencing tournaments

  • Got other necessary items

  • Snuck in some school shopping

  • Had a real sit-down breakfast for the first time in maybe two weeks

Also . . .

  • Got several e-mails written

  • Collated information on people I need to see at Pennsic.

  • Got the futon frame out

  • Started to arrange the college recommendations I need to write for students

  • Had several long IM conversations and two telephone conversations

  • Organized all my pharmacy-type stuff

Still to do . . .

  • Mow the lawn

  • Move some stuff from the truck to the garage

  • Finish packing the truck

  • Pack the last suticase(s)

  • Make the difficult, "Which books do I bring?" decision

More later.

I feel so anachronistic.

I finished charging the batteries for the the laptop, the digital camera and the phone.

Hehehe.

I think all the heavy lifting is done. Almost everything of mine is in the truck. But getting everything else packed in there at [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastrid's on Saturday will be interesting.

I got spoiled over the years because I swear [livejournal.com profile] artisticphoenix, [livejournal.com profile] evilnicola and [livejournal.com profile] theresat could have gotten four of each animal into the ark. I just had to carry the stuff down and stay the heck out of the way.

No storms, but it has dropped 20 degrees in the last five hours.

Lots of new readers over the last two weeks,.

Please welcome, [livejournal.com profile] kottr, [livejournal.com profile] metasomething, [livejournal.com profile] vdriscoll, [livejournal.com profile] verybigjen1, [livejournal.com profile] 1_big_grizz, [livejournal.com profile] eveglass, [livejournal.com profile] ootwoods, and [livejournal.com profile] seraaalicious to this handbasket.

I am unsure on my posting plans for Pennsic. We will see as it goes.

I do plan on taking a lot of pictures.

I will be leaving tomorrow and spending tomorrow night in Albany, then Saturday night in Wlkes-Barre. We should be in sometime Sunday afternoon.
