An update from the Liamverse
Nov. 16th, 2006 11:27 amI rarely go six days without an update, but I have. ;)
I have been commenting, etc., but I really have not sat down and posted myself.
That time span means that I have been really, really busy. There have been some really good things happening and some no-to-good things.
First off, and I will spare the details, my leg is stalled at "somewhat better." It no longer looks like an eggplant, but it still ain't right, bless its heart. It didn't help that I fell on it the other day.
I am through the IV antibiotics and on pills. Only I would be on Avelox -- the possesive form of a former king of An Tir.
Then there's the fact that I am posting on LJ at 11:20 a.m. on a school day. I actually have a doctor's note that says I need to stay home today and tomorrow. (It also included yesterday, but I needed to go in to hand in grades and to get ready for a substitute.
That leads to a good thing. The mother of one of my students has subbed for me once in the past. He suggested I ask Mom if she would do today and tomorrow. She wasn't really planning to come in today, but she said she would and that it would be "an honor" to substitute for me. Wow!
I am also catching up on my reading. While waiting for and getting the IVs, I got through a good chunk of "Love Me, Hate Me" by Jeff Pearlman. It's about Barry Bonds, the baseball player, and it's great. I was also fortunate enough to get "World War Z" when I was at the library the other day. It's by Max Brooks, the author of "The Zombie Survival Guide," and is the "history" of the upcoming Zombie War. It's told as an oral history, and is amazing on many levels. The plan is to finish those and "Valentine' Rising," by E.E. Knight, while lying in bed resting the leg.
There's a whole pile of other goodness from East Kingdom University, and I will post later.
