A few reviews . . .
Jan. 23rd, 2007 08:39 pmI posted a couple of review on Yelp!, where I post as Bill T. for some unknown reason.
I thought I would share.
Urban Oasis
Here's all you need to know.
I left school with a knot in my lower back caused by too many 52s on an easy exam. I was a ball of stress.
I left about an hout later, after a massage and a soak in the community tub, and the knot was gone, and I felt great!
I have been there several times, and I will go back.
That happened this afternoon. I really needed some kind of stress break. It was beautiful. From there I went to the library for an hour, then ate Chinese food, then started on LJ. ;)
Deep Ellum
All I needed was one visit to know that this place is going to be something special.
The tapline is as good as the Publick House, and folks who know me know exactly how high that praise it.
The kitchen is small, but wow, the sausage and polenta plate I got was simply amazing.
Maybe it proves how much of a geek I am that I followed a favorite bartender (Max) over from Bukowski's Cambridge, but it was worth it.
In A Pickle
I have eaten a lot of breakfasts in a lot of places over the last 47 years, and few are as consistently done as well as those at The Pickle.
Good prices, plenty of food.
The highlights are the hash -- done crispy and flat -- and the home fries -- spiced just right.
Added to LJ: I know folks who prefer some of the other places on Route 20 or nearby, but this is my favorite.
