Now my SCA friends know how the non-Scadians feel when they read my Pennsic posts.

Wow, that was a great weekend!

I have already extended personal thanks to [livejournal.com profile] tpau and [livejournal.com profile] citabria for their roles, and I want to thank all the GMs and Ops folks for making the con go, and all the players for doing the same.

Rundown

  • Louie the Werewolf Enforcer in "Deadfellas."

  • How you doin'?

I had a lot of fun with the role, as expected, and although I did win one showdown (or at least bluffed my way out of it), I was getting my sweet butt handed to me in the second ("You see fur and blood everywhere. Her teeth are digging into his neck.") when someone who hated me felt compelled to save me, largely because another character played her role so well.

  • Captain Jacobs in "Garwyn's Tavern."

  • I am a nice guy, and I am gonna get screwed over by everyone because I am nice, loyal, brave, etc.

  • Anders Carslyle in "Contract."

  • I could talk all day about this.

I have loved almost every game I have played in two years at Intercon, but my second run of "Contracts" simply cemented my opinion that [livejournal.com profile] zombie_dog, [livejournal.com profile] goldenoak and the other AoC GMs (add their names if you can, someone) are among the most professional and creative folks in the whole fan/con continuum. Oh, and their casting was absoluetly dead-on. It's a game where certain characters really need to be able to pull off their roles, and the folks in those key roles were absolutely fabulous. I am so glad they allowed me to play again, and while I had a hoot as Oran Alexander last year, I really loved playing Anders. There was some downtime, but I was right there at the end. That was cool. I had a couple of in-character crises of faith that I managed to work out. I so want to play in theie new AoC game next year.

  • First Officer Sam Zarkoff in "Collision Iminnent!!!"

Oh my goodness. This game is just too far over the top. I was betrayed by a hug, got to stick a gun in [livejournal.com profile] shadowravyn's back and later got to die, die, die. My condolences to the crew members who had to go at top speed for four straight hours.

As I said before, having a full spread in the Con Suite at 1:30 a.m. is pretty darned impressive.

I met a lot of great people, and I had a wonderful time. The hotel was grand.

I am not going to try to name everyone because I will forget, but, wow, I hope to see you all next year. I think this year was a little better because it was my second year and I knew more people.

If you met me/played with me/etc. please drop a note. Feel free to add me as a friend and on LJ and/or AIM. Info's on my profile page.

I was wise enough to take Saturday afternoon off and slept for four hours, which was a great idea because I had been up until 4:30 a.m. Saturday regaling [livejournal.com profile] tpau and others with my views on . . . well, just about anything and everything.

The show opens at 8 p.m., and is in the La Sala de Puerto Rico at MIT in Cambridge, Mass.

Tickets are $6 for students and $8 for adults.

What thinks ye?
