Pennsic as a do-over
Aug. 6th, 2007 10:55 amEven though I was only at Pennsic for about nine hours Saturday, it was onw of the better days I have had at Pennsic.
I got set up quickly, hugged a couple dozen people, went to order meetings, went to the Pennsic Independent and helped do some planning, spent time in Calontir, Shark and the Midlands -- as well as hanging around Maguire's Marauders -- and then heaed back to the hotel, where
alethea_eastrid was working on a paper for school.
Then the Pennsic Plague hit.
I am guessing food poisoning, not necessarily from Pennsic, but from about midnight to 10 a.m. Sunday, I slept for maybe 15 minutes at a clip and spent most of the time sitting on -- or kneeling in front of -- the toilet. It was one of the worst episodes I have ever had.
We decided early on that we would keep the room another day, and Alethea would go to Pennsic and come back. She hit Wal-Mart for crackers, ginger ale, Gatorade, etc., and left for the site.
I spent the day in bed, no computer, books or TV, trying to recover, and didn't feel human until maybe 6 or 7 p.m.
Finally got a little decent sleep last night, and we're headed for Pennsic soon.
I hope it gets a lot less interesting.
