Thursday afternoon update.

1. Finally getting back to business. Perhaps the most important thing is that I now have a permanent setup for my computer and assorted related items. For most people, this would be the dining room, but it's gonna be my computer room. I am thinking about calling it "The Dugout," but I wonder if that means I have to name all my devices after baseball terms, etc., rather than the current historical figures theme. I am in the front of the apartment, and I have a great view of Main Street in downtown Salem, NY.

2. We are five games up in late August. I am all good.

3. One of the things I love about being up here is that I can get four local dailies -- Albany, Schenectady, Glens Falls and Saratoga -- on a regular basis, and it's not hard to get Rutland, too. Of course, I can also get the New York papers and USA Today, and I have been told I can get the Boston Globe a day old in Saratoga.

4. For my Great Big Sea friends, here's a great video of Lukey's Boat with the 'boys and the Chieftains.

5. I don't say this enough: "I love my kids."

6. We don't live too far from "Mosquito Swamp Road."

I have been listening to a lot of SCA music, and I am working on some lists to share with folks.

I just responded to a post on peerpages about how peers should act out the "Chivalric ideals.
