I love it when my friends get awards!

One of my favorite things in the SCA is finding out that my friends have gotten awards. (The only thing better than that is seeing them get the awards, but that would involve getting to events).

;)

Anyway, the last court of Griffyth and Akaterina turned out to be a terrific one for my friends.

First of all, the Pennsic XXXVI Fencing Champions Team received the Blue Tyger Legion for valor as a fighting unit. I helped run the tournament, and I know each and every one of them. This is a great recognition ftom the Crown.

Other to folks on my friends' list:

[livejournal.com profile] artisticphoenix: Valiant Tyger (Command excellence at Pennsic or a foreign war)

[livejournal.com profile] tonypatriquin: Valiant Tyger

[livejournal.com profile] ladytat: King’s Cypher (The king says you rock!)

[livejournal.com profile] mrgrumpybear: King’s Cypher

[livejournal.com profile] harpduchess: Queen’s Cypher(The queen says you rock!)

[livejournal.com profile] kiena_s: Queen’s Cypher

[livejournal.com profile] tashabear: Queen’s Honor of Distinction (The queen says you are spiffy)

[livejournal.com profile] lucianus1: Burdened Tyger (You ran a great event (or ran the kitchen at an event) that the king and queen attended)

[livejournal.com profile] barondietrich: Burdened Tyger

[livejournal.com profile] ohsusana: Burdened Tyger

If I missed someone, I apologize. Please let me know.

I am so proud of all of you. You all rock!

Last-minute link: Six-Apart will help you help other people

The link comes from [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, and it's Here!

Six Apart will give you a $30 gift certificate to donate at DonorsChoose.org.

I checked under "Medieval" and found this school doing a project with trebuchets. Wren High School.

The catch is, the offer expires at 9 p.m. Eastern tonight. (You don't get the gift certificate right away).

Excellent book available free online.

Dan Kennedy, a prominent media commentator wrote a book about his daughter, who has dwarfism.

As he explains on his blog, the book is no longer in print, so he has made available free here.

I highly recommend it.
