Wednesday afternoon linky edition

1. This may possibly sound like a pilot for a sitcom. I am a finalist for the position of direction  of fraternities and sororities at a nearby university. Mull that over for a second, then understand that I am a brother of Zeta Beta Tau at the University of Rhode Island. (Yes, they rebuilt the house after it burned down, but someone stole the insurance money). Only one person here knew me then, but I bet it would make Father Tim, Bear, Mike Mellow, Captain Hardwick, Charlie Brown and Buffy and Emil chuckle a bit. If I get it, maybe I should go by my ZBT nickname, "Lou Grant."

2. So in my quest to expand my LJ knoweldge, I have been reading baristas. Today brought a set of comics. 

3. Speaking of comics, if you have ever read Funky Winkerbean, you need to check it out this week. You might want to go back to this past Monday or the Monday before that.

4. Thanks to alethea_eastrid's Library-Fu, I am just finishing the second of Naomi Novik's "Napoleonic War With Dragons" series and getting ready to start the third.

5. Later this week I should be getting the new CDs from Bruce Springsteen and John Fogerty, thanks to my friends at Amazon.

6. I just saw the Dropkick Murphys video for "The State of Massachusetts". I highly approve. It's a s stark as the song.

7. Meanwhile, back in New London, we've got videotaped fights and arrests.
