Sunday evening: Home safely . . .
Jan. 6th, 2008 04:55 pm1. Had a great time at 12th Night. Saw a lot of people, and I made a real effort to focus on talk to folks when I could. If you feel I didn't spend enough time with you there, please let me know. Sir Edward The Grey was knighted, and Valdr, also of Lochleven, received his Order of the Tygers Combatant. I also got a real kick when the two Order of the Tygers Cub recipients went up, and
evilnicola, who will be 21 Wednesday, was standing up there, beaming.
2. It gets two entries. Talk about serendipity! Due to illness, the awards basket was not there, and
lumineaux, who was the royal herald, needed a few tokens. Bright owman that she is, she sent
evilnicola on the hunt for the awards, and she came to me. Since one of the tokens needed was a Queen's Order of Courtesy glove, I handed Niki mine, asking only that I find out in advance who it was for. It wouldn't have mattered, but it turned out to be Colin of Lochleven, someone I deeply respect. I talked with so many people, that it would just not be worth trying to list them all.
3. I was somewhat surprised when I took the latest Presidential Choice quiz. All of my top choices were Democrats (gay marriage, open immigration and abortion rights will do that, although I do have some Conseravative views too. Anyway, two of my top three -- Joe Biden (76 percent agreement)and Chris Dodd (75) -- have gone, leaving me with Hillary Clinton (75), Barack Obama (73) and John Edwards (71), all clustered together.
Rudy Giuliani (56), as expected, is my top Republican, followed by John McCain (51). I gotta find out what I disagree with Rudy on.
Part of my problem in finding a candidate is that I believe in open immigration and staying in Iraq until it is stable. I do not think anyone's with me on those two.
