Sunday morning: Coffee is my friend . . .
Feb. 24th, 2008 09:14 am1. Welcome to :
joe_chin and
tigerbright.
2. Today's plan is for laundry and housecleaning. I needed almost two full cups of coffee to wake up and focus this morning. In the Liamverse, coffee comes in 16-ounce servings, so I suppose I just had a quart of coffee.
3. I know there are some Pelicans reading here. Recently, there was a supplement to the poll. One name. I did not read carefully (bad Liam). That supplement was an addition to the poll of Andreas and Gabriella, not Konrad and Brenwen. If you have an opinion, it would be important to respond quickly. [Please note, some people have said they feel I am commenting on the candidate. I am *not*. (Ask me privately and we can talk). I am just guessing I am not the only person who didn't realize it was for this reign, and if Their Majesties are to be able to make a decision, either way, they need comments.]
4. Speaking of Pelicans, I guess I need to memorize my elevation date (June 14, 2003). At last night's feast at King's and Queen's Bardic, there was the usual check for non-royal peerage dates, and I was third, so I got to toast the autocrat and kitchen staff. Well-deserved toasts by the way. Excellent site, excellent event, great food. But I just don't feel as though I have been a peer for closing in on five years. Of course, I am also used to being in Carolingia, Bridge and Dragonship, where there are people with peerages older than my kids. <lj user="stonetimber"> joined us at dinner. He tells more stories than I do. We made $140 in the travel/Pennsic fund auction.
5. From
slipjig : "Well," she sighed, "Liam is Liam."
In the background, Liam piped up: "And fish is fish!" A pause. "But we don't have a fish."
He was talking to his sister about his four-year-old nephew.
;)
6. I made Kakuru do the "linoleum slip" when I tossed some kitty treats on the k9itchen floor while she was out of the room. She "got a little loose in the turn" as the NASCAR folks would say.
