Sunday afternoon: Catching up . . .
Mar. 16th, 2008 04:48 pm1. Had a wonderful time yesterday, the first time we have hosted gusts here. We welcomed emt_hawk, svan_1004, slipjig,
rafaela,
jenphalian,
lbitw, sideshownate and Nate's perky girlfriend, whose name escaped me yesterday and continues to escape me. She fit in with us perfectly, which is scary. At one point, I heard her talking about Mathus' theory. OK, then. She does have an LJ and is in the SCA. The soup came out great, and my first attempt at baked brie was right on. Guests brought cookies and deviled eggs. We geeked out at the end and played "Ticket to Ride," which I had not played in a long time.
lbitw was the winnah. Probably the best part was the fact that having guests coming over motivated me to clean the living room. Yay!
2. Pretty much was a slug today. Slept while
alethea_eastrid took
jenphalian home and then went out to Saratoga Nice and quiet.
3. There's no oil in Tibet, right?

Butr from a humanitarian point of view, I think this is difefrent.
4. This came from John Scalzi's blog:

Yes, Maple Bacon lollipops. They also have absinthe.
5. Regular workday tomorrow, then on Thuesday I work and do a 3:30 p.m. presentation, then drive to Syracuse for two days of Advanced Youth Development training. That's Wednesday, and Thurday, and I get Friday off for Good Friday.
6. For the Grammarians out there:
From an editor's column in the Times-Union about letters to the editor regarding Eliot Spitzer:
The ones we ran were among the first to arrive on Tuesday and were chosen on a first-come-first printed basis. A few other letters are in the cue and will be printed soon, but most have been rejected because they cover points already made in letters that have already appeared. - HH
Emphasis mine.
