1. Welcome to [livejournal.com profile] windsingerbard! I am sorry we fell out of touch. Yay for another Atlantian!

2. It's another sunny April day here in the North Country. I am being really careful to be really appreciative. There's so much going on with planting and the garden stores being open again. (I like to watch, not do, and we do not have a garden).

3. Yesterday at the bike race was a lot of fun. I enjoy sports like cycling, because people appreciate you being there. It was also a bit iof a try out, because I do have an aplication in for an open position in that sports department. As promised, here is the story.

4. Anyone go to Balfar's Challenge yesterday? I would be interested in reports on fighting, court, and the farmhouse_ghost barbecue.

5. More sounds of Spring. Morotcycles on Main Street. Route 22 goes pretty much from just aboce New York City to the Canadian border, and it's a beautiful ride. With the weather, everyone's out.

6. Mundane day today. Cleaning. Maybe laundry. Maybe shopping. Send pics and short stories to a couple of cycling web sites. Read the Sunday papers. Drink more coffee.

1. Even before I got to start the 14-item to-do list, I had to add a 15th. Now that the buckwheat, blueberry-chocolate chip pancakes are made and eate, and [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastrid is happier, I will start on the kitchen.

2. Later, still not much done. For specific reasons, I would like to be listening to the Yankees-Orioles game right now. Instead, I am listrening to the play-by-play of the Pope holding Mass in Yankee Stadium. "The Pope just said 'Boston' very quietly here in Yankees' Stadium." [Pettite's perfect game ended with two out in the fifth anyway.]

3. I am fascinated by the Wii Fit, but they are doing it wrong. You need a "Bad Dreams" game, where you are running away from wolves while wearing socks on a freshly waxed floor (luposlipophobia) or a jumping game where you have to get away from snakes or something else like that.

4. The dishes don't seem to be doing themselves.

5. It completely boggles my mind that according to a recent poll, 10 percent of Americans think Barack Obama is Muslim. I don't want Hillary Clinton to win, and I especially do not want her to win because people are stupid.

6. OK. So one of the comparisons between the two candidates in Pennsylvania was: How were they doing among beer drinkers? It was even, by the way.

1. No. Well, a little in the bedroom and setting up to do dishes.

2. Squee! What a great win and what great rookies. Manny is forgiven because of Pedroia's pinch-hit double. I love it.

3. I love little surprised. I thought there was nothing left in the fridge except "Stew Beer," and I discovered a bottle of Allagash White. ["Stew Beer," which is pretty much only useful for making stew, is the second-lowest ranking in the Liamverse, ahead only of "Racetrack Beer," which is reserved for hot August nights in racetrack parking lots when there's nothing else.]

4. Today's "365 Bottles of Beer for the Year" calendar gives us a beer produced in nearby Saratoga Springs. It's "Bittersweet Lenny's R.I.P.A fron HE'BREW: The Chosen Beer, which is made at Saratoga Brewing. I met the brewer/promoter in a bar in Cambridge once.

5. The woman running reservations at Crown is looking for several people.

[livejournal.com profile] valgards, I assume you got you.

If you know any of these three folks, can you put them in touch with catlennox@yahoo.com . Thanks!

1. The dishes are done!

2. My wife loves me. She walked in from shopping, handed me a bag fronm a pastry shop, and said "Leave the gun . . . "

3. What's better than unexpected beer? Five unexpected Somoas! Yay!

4. I know I have a number of readers in Austin. My friend [livejournal.com profile] jenwrites, an excellent author, is nominated for a Nebula short story award, and will be in Austin this weekend. Please connect through her through LJ. She is very, very cool. She;s also former SCA.

Also, you want to meet her and get a copy of her book -- signed -- swing by the Omni Hotel on Friday some time between 5:30 and 8:00? she'll be on the third floor in the Longhorn room sitting behind a pile of books.

5. OK, I suppose I should not be the one to talk, but Nebraska fans were paying $100 for a $10 ticket for the spring (practice) football game.
