Tuesday night: Will we get another frost?
Oct. 7th, 2008 07:09 pm1. Oh, happy day. Welcome to
fence007,
magpiemss, and
nounsandverbs.
Kate!!!! I miss you!!!! Thank you for coming aboard.
2. I am always impressed with what other folks in the SCA do for a living.
ladytat, whom I am fortunate enough to count among my proteges, works for an architecture firm. She helped design the new Mandarin Hotel in Boston. Please click through the whole thing. It's very cool.

3. Heard from the audio book my wife is listening to.
"They asked if I was a gypsy, and I said I was Romany. They said that was silly, that they all carried spears and were all dead. I said, `Those were the Romans.' I am Romany."
4. Sometimes, it frightens me just how much my daughters are like me. I read
theresat's beer reviews and listen to
evilnicola's stories and see and hear my own voice.
5. Speaking of my voice . . .
alethea_eastrid has determined that I drop into my New England-Guy voice whenever I am talking about sports -- read "tawkin' about spawts." I believe she is correct. Poor Alicia. She is this very nice, young sports writer who seems doomed to pick up the phone every time I call in a halftime or final score.
You know what she gets, "Hey. It's Bill. Schuylerville, 37-nothin' " "Nothin'?," she asks. "OK, zero," I says. And apparently, when I tell that story, I say "Skylaville."
6. We had our first frost last night. A pretty good one, too. Wow, it was beautiful driving to work, what with the frost and the fog. The leaves are really turning up here, and the frost will quicken that.
7. I leave you with a CakeWreck via

Pssst . . . It's a baseball "diamond."
