Saturday morning: Filling a suddenly empty day . . .

3. When I got up this morning, the computer said it was 0 degrees. At one point, it dropped to -1, now it's back at 0. At 9:40 a.m.!

There is snow coming later..

4. I think it needs to be said loud and clear that the event steward and staff of 12th Night did an amazing job of dealing with the school system's decision to not all the event to take place today. You can disagree with the school system, though this sort of thing happens more and more.

But I think we need three Vivants and three Aves for them, and maybe three Hail Marys for good weather next weekend.

5. So, no 12th Night. I am headed to jenphalian's to make lasagna, and lbitw just took alethea_eastrid to the Bennington (Vt.) fight practice.

6. This morning's Boston Globe front page reminds me that we should thank firefighers, EMS folks and police officers every day. I know there are a number of you here. Some of you may even be on duty. Thank you. And, yes, I am thinking about two of you who were in a crash recently. I thank God You are OK.
