Thursday noonish: Life is settling, just a little . . .

2. I was asked (told?) by wench25   to post the entire “Liam is like chocolate-covered bacon” quote.

3. My new boss’ name is Natalie. I cannot tell you how many times I have started to write Natalia or even Nataliia in notes to her. So far, I have managed to catch it every time – I think.

 

Having a new boss, by the way, has been a good thing indeed.

 

4. I begin the second week without my truck. It is sitting at Aronson & Sons forlornly waiting for a differential flange. The search continues. For the record, 1990 Ford Ranger 2-wheel drive, extended cab.

 

5. For the all the mask-heads in the crowd:

 

 I have a new CPAP as of yesterday. This machine adjusts the pressure while I sleep.

 

I start at a pressure of 5, because I like to ramp up. I fall asleep better than way. Instead of going to a pressure of 16 and staying there, like the old one, this one goes to 10 and then adjusts to my air-flow, going up and down between 10 and 16 as needed.

 

I will say, I do feel better rested today, and that’s what CPAP adjustments are all about.

 

6. I am doing to be doing a workshop on ethical decision-making at our annual Youth Summit, which draws about 300 kids from almost all schools in the two counties our youth grant covers.

 

I am looking for the details of a canonical case:

 

Guy’s wife is gonna die until she gets a particular medicine that costs a lot of money. He breaks into the pharmacy and steals it. It saves her life. Discuss.

 

I am sure there’s a link where it’s written out better than that.

 

7. Work has been crazy-busy but in a good way. Today’s goal is to get my work life organized.

 

(You will notice, I was not asked to teach the time-management and organizational skills workshop at the Youth Summit)

 

I was, by the way, 24 hours and 15 minutes early for a meeting today. (Yeah, it’s tomorrow). And I was counting on the snackies.
