Tuesday night: The Night of the Links
Mar. 24th, 2009 07:48 pm1. I am taking this article as a victory.
NYC middle-school teacher invites 96 kids to his same-sex commitment ceremony. Many will come.
Some people will say, "But . . . two parents complained."
Listen, I have had two parents out of 96 complain about a homework assignment, much less a wedding invitation.
You gotta love the kids.
3. Some students at a high school I used to cover rather extensively walked out of school to protest the possible firing of the football coach. I know the coach from when he was a player, and he's a brilliant coach. But he's also had two major violations of state association rules just in his time at New London, beat one team 90-0, which resulted in a new rule punishing coaches who win by 50 or more and was sidelined for a year because he got into a fight with another coach.
You really need to read the comments on the story.

alethea_eastrid in it in the joupon that Countess Akaterine made for her, is better than a link!

Were they surprised to learn he was gay?
“He’s not gay,” said Japhet Guzman, 12.
“No,” agreed a lanky 13-year-old who walked with a bit of a tough-guy swagger, “he’s not gay. He’s bisexual. Why don’t you ask him?” (Mr. Nalley confirmed this.)
2. More good news about Gay issues. Story mentions both Sen. Chuck Schumer and the vote by the Vermont Senate.3.
