Monday afternoon: Bright and sunny . . .
May. 11th, 2009 05:40 pm1. Please welcome to
mightyjesse,
irisira03 and
lunalovegoddess to the Liamverse. Someone give them popcorn, please?
2. Among other things, we did the Washington County (N.Y.) Fiber Tour yesterday. We saw llama, alpaca, Icelandic sheep and Angora rabbits. I learned that in the U.S., Angora rabbits are bred for the show table, not for producing wool. In Europe, they are bred as wool-producers. German Angoras are all albino. French Angoras have colors. They are bred to get rabbits with colored wool that produce more.
3. Things are stalled in New Hampshire. As of this afternoon, the Gay Marriage bill had still not reached the desk of Gov. John Lynch. Once it gets there, he has five days to sign it or veto it, or it becomes law without his signature.
You can call Gov. Lynch at (603) 271-2121or e-mail him at
I saw a story today that the house of representatives in New York will pass a Gay Marriage bill this week, and that it's down to needing one senator to come over to the Gay Marriage side to get it passed. Gov. David Paterson is supporting the bill.
According to a religious web site, a Gay Marriage bill nearly made it to the Senate in Hawaii, but was killed by political manuveuring.
</td></tr>4. Thanks to the wonder of twitter, I can tell you that Jonathan Coulton's new CD -- "Best. Concert. Ever" is available for immediately download and will start shipping Friday.
5. You might want to fire up your radio tomorrow morning. In fact, I believe you can tap into the live feed www.espn.com or watch it on ESPN2.

From the Albany Times-Union:
Roger Clemens, who hasn’t given an interview since a CBS “60 Minutes” segment in January, is scheduled to join Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg on ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in the Morning (WTMM 104.5 FM) at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday.
6. It's Farmers' Market season in the North Country. We went to Saratoga Saturday. I am going to try to get my grandmother's kale soup recipe from my mom.
7. More from the wonderful world of bacon -- Bacconaise.
