Anyone know anything about armor? and if it's possible to cast it, say.. in bronze?

Well I'm a sculptor I know how to work steel but I'll be learning foundry soon. I was curious if I made body casts in  algenate (sp?) or direct casts in plaster, added a tracery pattern to the front cast that in wax would it work with the body when casted with bronze? I don't see why not.. right?
