I really want to answer the five-question memes.

I even had three of them started at one point, but they have done poof, and my focus is not such that I can go back and find them.

I have answered Bess, Katheryn (sp?) and Fiona.

I know there are *at least* three more, maybe four. I really want to get this done, because it will distract me from the craptasticity that is today. Send me a lin k, maybe.

I will also get questions to the folks I owe them two.

Oh, if you want to ask me five questions about anything (other than the flu) feel free.

I am feeling more human, but not "better."

Love all ya'all.

1. Yeah, the day I would have to struggle to post on the Internets, not a day I expected.

I think the temperature is leveled off, and I will be able to make it to tomorrow to go to the doctor. (Yes, I know I am whining. Isn't that what LJs are for).

I could describe this, but you know the story, As long as it stays the fuck out of my lungs, I will be fine. I am just not hungry! Yeah.

2. The first thing I said to my wife this morning was: “Do you want me to put hot water on you for tea?”

3. Two SCA / Flu-related thoughts:

A. You have the flu, and you're really worried, because the the warm, diet, sugar-free ginger ale tastes good. (The Pennsic Half-Strength Gatorade Rule).

B. You have the flu and you track your hydration by watching the frequency and color of your urine stream.

4. The New York Times is here for my gluten-free friends and relatives:

5. Life with us . . . (not today)

Liam: (with no context) "What's the word I am looking for?"

Alethea: "Clusterfuck?"

The word, actually, was "productive."

Alethea would like me to note she had been having a bad day,

6. I got this cool message from one of my former students on facebook last week or so.

Mark Ottolia: Your class was so in-depth. I'm in college now and it doesn't even come close to it
I remember clearly a lot of things. Like labor unions and the way vets were treated after Vietnam
We don't even come close to that in college, maybe one class per topic.
And later in the conversation, after I said I was old, he said . . .
Nah man. You are an awesome teacher.
7. From my friend Steve Barnes of the Table Hopping blog in the Albany Times-Union

Two lines you do *not* want to see him write when he reviews your place.

Delta Blue Grill is so soulless and pedestrian, so lacking in vitality and professional pride that the most sensible reactions are to weep with boredom and reach for the Tabasco sauce.

And:
All of the food was edible. It was also insipid, made and delivered by a staff that seems to be barely going through the motions.

127. Liam is not allowed to move Birka to June under any circumstances.

(Please fix it to Jan. 30 anywhere you see the mistake.)

PS: Catriona, remember what I said about someone being one of the 10 most important Scadians in the East?

Yeah. Absolutely.

One of my good friends is pursuing a degree in geospatial studies.

Here is what she would like:

Basically, I'm looking for a breakdown of which ZIP codes belong to which Barony/Shire/etc, as well as how many SCA members live in each (or even just Pikestaff mailings totals).

East King only, US only.

Are these available to the average clueful Scadian?

Thanks,

Liam
