Saturday afternoon: First post of the New Year . . .

1. LJ Details: If you are not on my friends' list, you still have the chance to be No. 1 of 2010.

I have blown my chance to post every day in 2010.

That's "Twenty-ten," by the way.

2. Weather: Snow last night, more snow coming. But at least it's 28 degrees.

3. Movies: As I may have mentioned, we were gifted with a 32-inch, flat-screen TV by [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastrid's parents. It has a DVD player in it, so suddenly, I am the library's best DVD customer. I have watched  Dirty Harry," "Under Seige," and the first eight episodes of "NCIS." I have "Taking Chance," which I have really been looking forward to, the updated "Red Dawn" DVD with new features, and the good "Highlander" movie up next.

4. Books: I read 2.5 books at [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastrid's parents -- Stuart Woods' "Chiefs," John Grisham's "Playing For Pizza," and half of "Here if You Need Me."

I have had great luck at the library, finding unexpected new books by P.T. Deutermann and WEB Griffin and stumbling onto "Boneshaker," which I really want to read.

5. New Year's Eve: Low key and enjoyable at [livejournal.com profile] knoggleknot's with [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastrid , [livejournal.com profile] jenphalian, [livejournal.com profile] zarhooe , [livejournal.com profile] slipjig , and [livejournal.com profile] rafaela .

6. Cooking: Made the Guinness Beef Stew for New Year's and also made the bacalhau. Both were great. Cooked breakfast for four yesterday, including cheesy eggs, home fries and pumpkin pamcakes (from a mix).

7. Photo: This is just amazing!

Saturday evening: Just a few thoughts . . .

1. Can we have a hearty Liamverse welcome for [livejournal.com profile] karstyl  ? She's No. 1.

2. Dear Grocery Store;

Valentine's Day candy?

No love,

Liam

3. Some day we won't notice this, but I thought it was wicked cool that a woman, Pam Ward, was doing the play-by-play on the UConn-South Carolina fotoball game.

4. Dear Albany Times-Union;

The full-page crossword puzzle is waaaaaaaay wicked cool.

Next time tell us where we can find the bloody answers.

Yours in a four-letter answer,

Liam

5. I love the New York Post!

Today's front-page headline: "Hoops Stupes".

6. Oh, the guy who scored the Flyers' only goal in the 2-1 Fenway Park loss to the Bruins yesterday?

Danny Syvret. I interviewed him last month when he scored the winning goal with 0.8 left for the Adirondack Phantoms here in Glens Falls.

7.  Hockey at Fenway!
