1. Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] slipjig, who is the author of the crossword puzzle in today's New York Times.

The solution is at XWords. Click his head. There's some commentary and a link to the puzzle (you need ot subscribe to do the puzzle online) at the Times.

We got to do his original puzzle (they get some editing) on New Year's Eve, just after it had been accepted.

2. Back to the Glens Falls Civic Center today for a third day of immersion into boys' high school basketball. Last two games of the tournament today, then there are three days of the boys' and girls' Federation tournament next Friday through Sunday. The coverage is at the Post-Star. I have several stories listed there, including the one about the CBA lacrosse player.

3. I've been spending a good deal of time working on my blogs at "Working" Press and Short Pours. Please take a look when you get a chance. Every time I post, there's an update at my facebook, which is at Bill Toscano, and my twitter at LiamStLiam.

4. Wow, the weather has been great, even though I have been in the Civic Center a lot. It's a little cloudy today and only going into the upper 40s, but it's been in the 60s and sunny and bicycles and motorcycles are popping up like crocii (crocuses?). It is getting to freezing or below at night still.

5. Can I hear some Gulf Wars stories please? Or at least in the next couple of days? I wish I could have gone. That's a war I have never been to. Same for Estrella. I will be coming off my semi-accidental SCA hiatus soon. I won't be at Mudthaw because of the Federation tournament, but I will be at Coronation, and I will be teaching four classes at the EKU/Knight School two weeks later.

6. [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastrid will be even busier, because not only will she be at all three SCA events, she and jenphalian will be at "Disney Princesses on Ice" at the Civic Center on the weekend between Coronation and EKU/Knight School.

7. I miss you guys! Tell me what's up in your lives.
