This turned out to be an all-day post. I started it around 8 a.m., and I am finishing it after 3 p.m.

1. It's 33 degrees in the North Country, headed for a high of 67. But it's going to turn to rain today and tomorrow. That makes it easier to stay here and keep pounding away at the job hunt. Lots to do, but, hey, it's like anything else.

2. If last night's opener is any indication, it's going to be a terrific baseball season.

3. John Scalzi has the complete Hugo Award Nominee list at Whatever. It includes his own "The God Engines," a novella I am reading right now. Seanan McGuire, who is a friend, has been nominated for the John W. Campbell Campbell Award for best new writer. There are a number of other familiar names on there. Scalzi also does an analysis of the nominees.

4. What a great day I have had! I kept a diary of what I did on the job search today and posted it all at "Working" Press.

5. And, OMG, there are a half-dozen baseball games going on right now. I love Opening Day and the days after it. Albert Pujols hit a dinger in his first at0bat, then hit another in the seventh. It's a day off for the Red Sox and Yankees, so I need to pay attention to what else is going on.

6. I love facebook, and I love pretty colored charts, so today, I also love Mashable.

7. You can "thank" [livejournal.com profile] rosefireopal for the link to Cadbury Creme Eggs Benedict.

I've been posting a lot about Macaroni and Salami Pie, which I first ate back in Westerly and referring to it as an old family recipe.

First of all, it's important to point out that the recipe I posted this week is actually from the [livejournal.com profile] artisticphoenix family archives. That certainly makes it an ancient family recipe for [livejournal.com profile] evilnicola and [livejournal.com profile] theresat, but not so much for me.

This is driving me nuts. I swear I remember eating it way back in the day, but maybe I am conflating it with frittata with soupresatta we always used to have at Easter. (Fluffy omelet with ricotta cheese and dried sausage).

No matter what, I still have a Macaroni and Salami Pie in the fridge.

Edit: My sister tells me I am I am whacked out of my skull and we never ate such a thing.
