The NaNo Chronicles: Up to Day 17
Nov. 18th, 2010 05:20 pmDays 15-16-17: If there’s anything NaNo had taught me, it’s that “progress” is a relative term.
First off, I got in better than an hour of solid writing on Nov. 17 and headed to bed at 9,961. I didn’t realize I was so close or I would have added a sentence.
That means I am all way through Day 6 and 20 percent of the way there. It also means I am 11 days behind, but that’s relative. We’ll see what happens today. As long as I do not lose ground (that is put in say 2,000 words tonight), I will be fine.
But there are more important things than word count. I have a couple paragraphs written for every chapter (10 chapters) at 5000 words each. More important, I have a story arc, and I am getting comfortable with some of the characters. Things have been coming a little more easily.
And the plunge will be over Saturday, so I can focus better.
