Landing on my feet . . .
Mar. 18th, 2011 09:59 pmAs you may remember, I got laid off in late January 2010, did a lot of part-time newspaper work for most of the year, landed a "temporary" job in December coveringa town for a weekly newspaper group.
In January, that became full-time, and as of this week, I will be the managing editor of that group and wil be in charge of three papers, two full-time people and a couple of part-time people.
When the raise kicks in come April, I will be making just under double what I was getting at the old job before the layoff.
I want to thank everyone who supported me when I was down.
If you need something, you let me know!
Things are still going to be tight for us. It's a big hole to get out of, but I do have a week for Pennsic (that was negotiated back in December).
I really like what I am doing. It's fun and it's a challenge.
The group is at Manchester Newspapers .
I love teaching, and maybe I will go back down the road.
But I also love newspapers.
Thanks again!
