For some of you, this will be the fourth year in a row you have seen this.
For those of you who have known me for less than a year, you’re now part of an annual tradition – a request for donations to Special Olympics New York.
On Nov. 19, I will dive into Lake George – with family, friends and several hundred other nutcakes – as part of the annual Polar Plunge.
Last year, our team – Agni Dentati (“Sheep With Teeth) – raised nearly$5,000, and we have regularly been one of the top teams at this
Plunge.
I have been fortunate – with help from my friends – to be able to finish as the top individual fund-raiser – on at least one occasion.I’ve been
around Special Olympics since high school.
I was blessed to have met t Jack O’Keefe, who helped get the Connecticut Special Olympics started, when I was a young sports writer, and I have had the good fortune to have covered the Connecticut State Special Olympics twice and covered the World Special Olympics when they were in Connecticut in 1995.
If you can make a donation, I would consider it a personal favor. Everyone who donates will be entered in a raffle for Special Olympics
gear and other prizes.

I will post pictures of the Plunge after it is over.Thank you for your consideration.
