what are some good books on the civil rights movement?
i took a class on it last semester, and it is one of the best classes i've taken in two years of college. it got me really interested in the subject. we even got wes hogan to speak at our school, but i had to miss is because of rugby.
also, have you read howard zinn's autobiography? there are a bunch of chapters (a bulk of the book, actually) on his involvement with the civil rights movement in atlanta and with his vietman protests in the late 60's and early 70's. if you haven't read that book, i definately reccomend it.
lastly, james foreman's autobiography is equally as interesting if you haven't read it.
no subject
