Sometimes, a polite letter will suffice

Whenever people complain to me about things in the SCA, I ask if they have written the Society president or seneschal.

Invariably, they tell me it will not work.

Last night, I wrote them regarding one of the five pictures on the cover of the newcomers guide.

One of the pictures was of a fire-eater, and I just thought that wasn't one of the five things *I* would think of in the SCA and that it wasn't something we would want newcomers to pursue. ;)

I got a follow-up from the Society chatelaine this morning, asking me for details (I was not overly clear in the letter).

This afternoon, she wrote telling me that the picture would be changed later this week.

Now, I am glad I didn't just snark it.

I'm glad you did that. I hadn't noticed the picture yet (barely glanced at the guide so far), but fire eating falls way into the realm of "don't try this at home".
