Oct. 4th, 2003 09:03 amOK, haven't posted anything in 10 days and nothing meaty in three weeks (if a post about what beer I was drinking is meaty).
Let's see . . . School is crazy, fricking insane. Big classes, more than the usual bobo-heads, a very active national Honor Society group, strange men wandering around in the parking lots, you name it, we have it going on at PVMHS.
There have been multiple nights when Nataliia doesn't get home until 4:30 p.m. (dismissal is at 2 p.m.) and says I am doing 90 minutes of work, napping, then working for another 90.
The good news is that I think I am somewhat over the hump for a bit, so life should be easier. The first progress reports go out next week, and I am getting close to caught up.
Needless to say, not a lot of time for reading. Sure, I read the Globe and the Salem News, along with several other papers every day, but I have not had time for books.
I did re-read The Perfect Storm, and am currently watching the movie again. I have "Bush At War," so I can understand Afghanistan.
It's pretty scary when soldiers from your state are dying, and they are from the same units as your friends.
Today will probably mark the end of the baseball season as we know it. It is not easy being a Diehard, especially when -- after they have lost for the second time in 16 hours -- ESPN Classic is showing the 1978 playoff game and interviewing Bcky Fricking Dent. But it's better than being a Yankee fan.
I am excited by no smoking bans and the way they are expanding. No smoke, and the beer tastes better.
Weekend plans abound. Mom and my stepfather are coming to visit next weekeend, and we are going touristy shopping. I'll be volunteering at the Head of the Charles regatta one weekend and trying to get to Crown, too. We're hosting a party for the teachers from school in several weeks, then I am taking students to the National Honor Society national convention.
Been drinking lots of good beer and contributing to www.beeradvocate.com and putting up lots of rants at www.teachers.net's chatboards.
More to come.
