New prince in the East Kingdom! Yee-ha

For those of you who know me through teaching lists or in other ways, you need to know that one of my hobbies is dressing up in medieval clothes on weekends as a member of the Society of Creative Anachronism.
Our king is chosen through a tournament, and a good friend of ours won yesterday. His lady is also a good friend.
Sir Thorson and Baroness Svava are the new prince and princess of the East Kingdom!
He is from Mountain Freehold (Vermont) and she is from Stonemarche (New Hampshire) but spends a lot of time in our barony (Carolingia).
The finals were Sir Gabriel, our newest member of Chivalry against Thorson
Sir Balin, of the coolest people in the Society against Viscount Karl von Sussen, who was, I believe, prince of Drachenwald at one point. Sir Kenrick and Sir Griffyth were the others in the top six.
There 28 Combatants in total and 17 unbelted. There were only five other belted fighters besides the six finalists. That means there were no more than five people, max, who have been king before.
What I find interesting is that I have been in the SCA 10 years, and five of the six finalists have been knighted *since* then. (Count Karl is the exception). I think I saw most of those knightings.
Some of you may know this, but the tourney was held in Ruantallan (Nova Scotia), and that's why it was fairly thin in terms of numbers. However, our prince has been in the finals or final four on several occasions, and Balin, Karl, Kenrick and Griffyth (I think) have gone deep before.
In addition, two of my friends, who moved from Calontir to the East, are now members of the Order of the Silver Crescent. They are THL Ysesungge and his lady, Lady Bess Darnley.
