East Kingdom Crown

Prince Gaufred Kelson and Princess Genviere will be back on the throne for next Pennsic.
Kelson defeated Sir Artorius of Stonemarch, three bouts to one, in the finals of an event held so far north in Vermont, the ducks were bilingual.
Other semifinalists include Sir Balin and Sir Angus from Carolingia.
Personally, I was impressed with both the level of fighting and the level of Chivalry. Sir Gabriel and Lord Alaric kept giving each other points of honor in a great bout, which Gabriel won. Sir Kenrick made a very chivalrous decision early on. Lord Ysungge from Ruantallan received an award from the Ladies of the Rose for his Chivalry and his wonderful deaths (die less often, Ysungge!), Alaric received one as a rising young fighter and Sir Artorius received the Shield of Chivalry. (I know I missed a couple awards)
There are three new peers of the Realm, including Sir Ishido of Mountain Freehold, who is simply one of the absolute coolest people in the SCA. (Can you say "Sushi for the vigil guests?") and two Pelicans -- Ian Gunn ("The Man Who Brought You Birka") and Parsley, whose full name I can never remember. Her work included complete electronic organization of the polling lists.
OK, so Ian did not produce Birka alone, and he has done a great deal of other work, but when I think of him, I think of Birka.
Duchess Marieke became the third Tyger (Tiger?) of the East, and both Master Harold and Master Ernst were there in court with here.
Master Adhemar and his crew, long with the Mistresses of the List, did a wonderful job. The marshals were spot-on.
As far as the dayboard goes, there was still hot food after the finals. The feast looked wonderful, but we had to go.
