  • Giving written tests in my first three (U.S. History) classes, then my duty and my prep, then the sophomores, then trying to cram the last little drops of information into my last period class, which will be taking the test Thursday or Friday.

  • Faculty meeting. Always an interesting sidelight.

  • Home for roughly two hours, then drive to rehearsal.

  • Final dress rehearsal for MacBeth.

  • Drive back home and sleep.

  • Mixed in . . . obsessively check election results

  • I am hoping to get some NaNoWriMo done in that afternoon block and in the large chunks of the play in which I am waiting in the green room.

I am still not sure of my reaction to the election, but I am greatly annoyed that it may not be finalized for several weeks.

I have to admit, the media called Ohio a "battleground state" all along.

I am really happy with where I am so far.

NaNoWriMo Progress Meter

I am right at 2,000 words a day, and I have found I can slip in little chunks here and there. I cranked out 500 words in 10 minutes at lunch today. I can type faster when I am writing fiction than when I am typing from notes or inputting text.

So far, I have worked on this novel at my home computer, on a school computer during lunch and on the portable in the green room and in the hallway at Macbeth rehearsal.

Tomorrow (Thursday) I might actually have bigger chunks of time. I don't want to jinx this, but I am farther along than I expected. I like the freedom and creativity NaNoWriMo gives me. I have shut the Inner Editor off, and I am just letting stuff out that's been building up for something like 30 years. I would love it if this thing sells, but just completing it would be fabulous.

The weekend will mean carving out time when I can find it because we're putting Macbeth up at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Sunday. We're also doing it in the afternoon Saturday as part of an SCA event.

I hope to see you there.
