Monday night wanderings
Dec. 5th, 2005 09:09 pmI was wandering through the Boston Common tonight. It was amazingly crisp and beautiful. The white lights, the duck pond and the cold combined to really make it a treat for the senses. I don't stop and wander enough. (Actually, I was walking to somewhere, but I took a little longer).
I also got to see the Christmas tree from the road. Absolutely beautiful, and I am so glad I know of the connecticut between Nova Scotia and Boston over that tree. (A present for Bosgton's help during the Halifax explosion during World War I).
Anyway, nice night. :;
More stuff . . .
1. If you are interested in judging a History Fair (think : Science Fair) and are available from 1-4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, please let me know. My school is in Peabody. I believe everyone on my Friends' List is qualified. ;)
2. I have not been updating much lately, so if you need me, use e-mail. My computer doesn't seem to want to talk to the
network in the house. The jack works with a different computer, but I get a "network cable is unplugged." message on the Mother Ship. When I try it on
Garibaldi, my laptop, I get a "limited network" message. The computer it *did* work on is a Linux machine.
3. Let's say you had water stains on your
ceiling (hyopthetically). What would you use to get them out. I was thinking a
blow torch would work. Any other ideas?
4. My students and I raised more
than $330 for Special Olympics yesterday at the Jolly Jaunt. Four of us walked,
and another 30 helped volunteer to run the event. I did the entire 5K walk in
59:58, talked to
liadan_m for part of the time and WAS NOT LAST!!!!!! (Don't owrry if you couldn't donate, because I will be hitting you up for the Passion Plunge, when I dive into the ocean in February.
5. I keep forgetting to mention this. My housemate rocks! When she needed to get me a kehy, she specifically got a Boston Red Sox key. I love it!
