A really gratifying day
May. 18th, 2006 06:25 pmThe first day back was a good one.
Some of the kids had to deal with flooded yards and houses, but there were no major injuries and everyone seemed to be bouncing back.
I got everyone back on track, and partly because of the delay, I am planned out straight through Memorial Day.
The boss said there was no sense putting out a newsletter this week, so I got all the rview sheets and all the tests for the current chapters done, and I have most of the copying done for next week's Civil Rights unit, which will consist mainly of watching an abbreviated version of "Eyes on the Prize" and working through questions and identifications on it. We still have to finish "Letters Home From Vietnam" tomorrow. That's one of my favorites.
I got a number of other things squared away, although I forgot I had Detention until they reminded me over the PA, (OK, I originally wrote that as "dentation." I forgot I had teeth?
Anyway, good day. Came home and fotzed around with LJ, then did another straight hour of writing -- 2,337 words of 39.6 words per minute. Best so far.
I think I am going to have more than 15,000 words to turn in at the fellowship meeting Saturday. I was pumped to get to work when I get home, and I am pumped to do more work. But oddly enough, the check with the second half of the grant came in today, so I really don't need to do anything else. ;) (Just kidding).
evilnicola just stopped to visit with her little friend, J. He cried when she skipped into the bathroom and out of sight, but he smiled when I sang, "I am Cow" for him.
Hear me moo.
