Oddly enough, I sat next to a guy using Panera Bread as his personal office this morning. He was selling Internet services to a potential customer, for 25 minutes, off a single cup of coffee, with the customer having nothing.
I get home and see a link to
"Wi Fi Wars" .
I think people who do what's described in the article are just rude. People are rude a lot in a number of ways, and this is one of them. Buy some fricking food, you moron. I always get a drink for every 30-45 minutes I am there and will also order food. It boggles my mind that people have such a sense of entitlement!
I am listening to a number of new CDs today, including the poetry album, "Conviction," by Taylor Mali. Yes, it has "What Teachers Make," and "Seventh Grade Viking Warrior," of which I have spoken before. It also has
Like Lily Like Wilson, which is germane to my previous post about the Gay Marriage Amendment.
Recommendation for non-mainstream CDs:
CD Baby!.
Some of you outside of the Boston area may not yet heard of
The Tunnel Ceiling Falling Down.
First of all, I am deeply in debt to
mzkero for arranging to have
evilnicola picked up. Otherwise, I would have had to fight through to the airport to pick her up.
Anyway, now I am hearing people say they will never use the tunnels again. One of the gubernatorial candidates says he won't use them. (He had said this before the collapse).
Me, I figure if my time's up, my time's up. I mean I am not gonna eat a rare hamburger and swim with Sharks, but I am not gonna disrupt my daily life for little reason, either. I'll drive through it again.
And now the governor's trying to use this to fire the Turnpike Authority chairman, something he has been unable to do over the years. Not a bad idea, but a little snotty right now.
