Words on a Sunday evening . . .
Sep. 17th, 2006 07:15 pm1. There are animals everywhere! I already mentioned that we have a new roommate, Fenway, a beagle puppy who lives with us here in Waltham. Last night,
alethea_eastrid's usually placid apartment was filled with black blurs -- everywhere -- after she adopted two kittens. One is almost completely black and the other is black with a little white. She got them from the amazingly organized Animal Rescue folks in the Albany area. These are velocikitties, folks. They must be related to the one that
ogedei and
artisticphoenix got. The kittens have not named themselves yet, but I am lobbying for "Rant" and "Roar," from a Great Big Sea song. "Beowulf" and "Grendel" would work, too.
2. Like my friends Mahin (
baronessmartha) and Baron Eric, I am making a name change in an attempt to become more period. Strangely enough, what I am pursuing, with the active help of
lumineaux, is William O'Donovan. Those of you who know me well know that's my mundane first name and the actual Irish version of my middle name. We also have a device in the works. Yes, I do still plan on going by Liam to the folks who know me, but I want to start fleshing out the persona story (and start to dress well, too).
3. I know
eveglass is gonna appreciate this, but I think everyone needs to see this latest re-telling of Beowulf from a creationists' point of view. No mead, but it does have dinosaurs.
4. For my Massachusetts neighbors, I am going to vote for Tom Reilly. I am old-school. He is old-school. I believe he has earned this shot, and he's a lot more like us than the two millionaires running against him. (I do give Chris Gabrieli props for what he's done with education). I do not think it is fair for Gay activists to bash Reilly for certificatying the proposition against Gay marriage. I believe that was what he legally had to do. I am gonna go with Tim Murray as Lieutenant Governor based on the fact that he has run the city of Worcester, which is far more responsibility than either of his opponents. Yeah, I know Reilly did stupid stuff and almost wrecked his campaign, but I still like him the best of the three.
I also like to pick a Lieutenant Governor who I think can step in, and I think he can.
