Happy Thursday, everyone.

1. Buncha new readers. I am unsure when the last time I updated this was. Hello to: [livejournal.com profile] lucasthegray, [livejournal.com profile] maccuswell, [livejournal.com profile] mr_teem, [livejournal.com profile] cos, [livejournal.com profile] harpduchess, [livejournal.com profile] wgptrey, [livejournal.com profile] hedewigis, [livejournal.com profile] elionwyr, [livejournal.com profile] ahf and [livejournal.com profile] oldest_song.

2. I try to keep my class updated on the war in Iraq, so I try to mention the number of American casualties and what some of the major issues are. Sometimes, I will give a mutiple-choice question asking how many deaths there had been. I have a copy of a test where the choices are 100, 500, 1000 and 1500. (The answer at the time was 1500). I have to admit I was just a little stunned that the number had passed 3500. Wow.

3. Fresh from [livejournal.com profile] dot_poly_snark we have: Polyamory Bingo! We so need one on the SCA. ;)

4. I got whacked on a Gay Straight Alliance LJ for saying that I think it's important to say something when people use the word "gay" as a prejorative. I am somehow "hurting the cause."

5. Every Tuesday night, on the way home from Davis Square, I scream at the radio. Every Tuesday night, starting two or three weeks ago and running until the draft -- and probably afterwards -- there's an hour-long analysis of who the Patriots might draft. Every fricking week.

The Bedlam Bards, who are based in Texas, are making a trip to New England at the end of April and will be hooking up with some local folks for at least one concert up here.

I am a fanboy, and I am trying to gauge what interest there might be in a house/room concert on Thrusday, April 26.

They basically do songs and filk from Firefly. They are also an SCA-related band, but I am not sure what all they might do with that. There is already a Saturday house concert in Cantocook, N.H., (oddly enough, near a regular Stonemarch event site).

Anyway, I am just trying to see if there might be interest.

1. People asked about the "gay" discussion.

Look here )

2. I suddenly realized this week that I have not stopped for donuts on the way to school in at least a month, probably more. I stop at a service station and get bad coffee instead.

3. A tie for the last day of school.

4. [livejournal.com profile] hfcougar is a winnah with this!
