Pre-Pennsic Auction . . .
May. 15th, 2007 11:22 pmGreetings, all.
I will be coordinating an auction for the East Kingdom Travel Fund, and at this point I am looking for two things.
1. I am looking for someone who will be willing to set it up as a web auction, maintain it, and help me complete it. I know some of the usual suspects are here.
2. I am looking for people to donate their time and skills to help Their Highnesses to be able to travel suring their upcoming reign.
Here is how I see this auction running:
It will start June 1 and end June 15. Specific time to come.
It will be oriented toward Pennsic. I am hoping people will be able to donate two or more hours of their time at Pennsic to the winning bidders. I am also hoping that people can create items which will be deliverted at and be useful at Pennsic. (Note: I am willing to take a variety of donations, but I think the Pennsic theme will be a good one for this auction.)
Example:
PENNSIC PHOTOGRAPHY: An experienced photographer will spend time with you and your household/group/unit at Pennsic and will provide CDs with a minimum of 150 photos from the event. Offered by Master Liam St. Liam.
I would ask that people make arrangements such that if they are not able to attend Pennsic, someone else can provide the service offered.
Here are some ideas that have been discussed in the past.
If you are an experienced fighter -- especially a knight, duke or count -- you might offer two hours of one-on one lessons during the war.
The same might go for en experienced fencer (White Scarf, OGRE, etc) or archer, thrown weapons person, etc.
A Laurel -- or another experience craftsperson -- might offer specific lessons.
An experienced cook might offer to make a camp dinner for a certain number of people.
If you are at a camp that does nice dinners, you might offer to invite a certain number of people over one night.
If you area bard, actor or other performer, you might offer a private show ina camp or another place.
If you are a seamstress/seamsmaster, you might offer some Pennsic specific garb. Or you might offer to make a banner for someone's camp.
I would love to hear other potential ideas from people.
If you are interested in offering a service or donation, please contact me privately at bill@goonbox.com .
Thank you for your consideration.
