Friday evening update . . .

1. Three-day weekend for my favorite library director. Tomorrow's plans include yard sailing on the way to the Saratoga Farmers' Market and pick-your-own blueberries and raspberries on the way back. Probably going out with friends tomorrow night. Vermont State Fair, and maybe a garlic/herb festival on Sunday, if the festival is still going.

2. I never got to recount my hour-plus ride bringing the cat's back from the boarder's yesterday.

• I remember thinking, "Wait, I don't see any cows . . ." then realiizing what the smell really was.



• You cannot drown out mewling cats with the Dropkick Murphys, no matter how loudly you play them.



• An hour lasts a long, long time.



• I am still "The Evil, Bad Man." (tm)



• Cats can hide for a long time when they get home..
