1. The day started with me filling the electric kettle, turning on the gas burner and putting the electric kettle on it. Yes, the gas burner and the electric -- plastic-bottomed -- kettle. Not too much damage, and I was able to scrape most of the melted plastic off the counter. Later -- while sitting in
alethea_eastrid's library(my wife can haz own liberry!), I realized I was there at 2:45 p.m. to pick her up, and she doesn't get off until 5 p.m. (I had to ask her if it was 3 p.m. or 5 p.m.).
2. In between was not so bad. I picked up household stuff at K-Mart. I ran some other errands, got a telephone call to schedule and interview next week, and got some fresh vegetables.
3. Buying a house may be easier than registering to substitute teach in the six-county region. Getting certified in New York is gonna be a (do-able) three-ring circus. Vermont will be a touch easier.
4. Blame this demonic link on
orlacarey.
5. I should know better than to try to update the magic number when the Sox are playing, even when they have a huge lead. Ick. At least they won it.
6. The best thing I have read about the Larry Craig fiasco.
