Tuesday night catching up . . .
Sep. 18th, 2007 09:56 pm1. Welcome to
lily_penhille. I hope you like it here.
2. The job hunt continues. I did a telephone conference call with four people for a job as the director of fraternities and sororities at a university up here. I did *not* tell them what my ZBT nickname was.
3. I *am* working. I spent the last two days at a weekly newspaper office, editing yesterday and writing two stories and a board of selectman meeting summary. I have covered two sports events for a local daily, and I have submitted a page's wprth of pictures of the Cheese Tour for a picture page. I have also persuaded them to let me write a story on pumkpin beers. Mull that over.
4. There is work coming, largely because I am now officially on "Sub Finder." Yeah. The local BOCES that covers the counties around here has an auotmated system that calls you to offer you a job and gives you all the details. You can choose to accept the job or not. I am doing a partial day tomorrow as a Media Specialist/Librarian, and I am booked for three days next week in high school special education, all at the same school.
5. The interviews are coming, too. Some local schools do not use "Sub Finder." The school in town that I can walk to called, and I have an interview with the high school principal Thursday. I have an appointment at the school in the town where
ladyalethea works next week. I also have a big one on Friday. A intervire and a couple of tests at a really good daily that is hiring for a weekend reporter position. That would be a great one to get.
6. The new Dropkick Murphys album is out. I need to go get it.
7. Non-random Babylon 5 quote:
G'kar: "I'll do whatever I can. Discreetly of course."
Grey Council Leader: "I know your reputation G'kar. Discreet is not in your vocabulary."
