Wednesday morning: Ready for a busy day!
Jan. 16th, 2008 08:04 am1. And we pick up two more --
argent_tyger -- that would be your King's fencing champion --
rocksryan -- an LJ newbie who knows a little about archery and a lot about carrying stuff.
2. Ths is probably going to be the busiest day yet at work. I have to have a rough draft of the quarterly report ready for tomorrow, go to a meeting about a half-hour away, catch up with a colleague who was out yesterday, do some personal stuff, then go cover a basketball game (which was switched at the last minute). The game I was supposed to cover tonight was moved to last night. It wasn't a bad game. I would have hated missing a one-point game. I hope to do another game or two this weekend. I am also excited that I have Monday off next week.
3. I woke up relieved in the middle of the night. I have some issues with the concept of eternity, and when I woke up and realized that indeed I had *not* accidentally killed someone and was not doomed to be on that endless corridor of cells, I felt a lot better. ;)
4. I know it's not good for me, but yesterday the boss bought fully loaded dogs, plus fries, from The Dog Shack up the street.
5. I think everyone knows, but no Arisia for us. Too many other trips and events. No Intercon, either, I am afraid. But yes to Birka and Boskone, plus Northern Lights KQ Bardic and mot likely, Coronation.
6. This is a rough story to read, but it's one of the best-written and researched pieces I have seen in a long time. The New York Times looks hard at killing committed by soldiers who served in Iraq and Afghanistan after they came back. It has a solid sense of balance to it.
