Monday night
Feb. 19th, 2008 08:27 pm1. Welcome to the lovely and talented
jenwrites. I got to meet her and hear her read at Boskone. Highly recommended.
2. Speaking of Boskone, I will catch up on the blogging and post pictures tomorrow.
3. Today was the worst day I have had in the three or so months I have done my job. We are working on next year's planning, the two two youth directors -- who planned the grant and have been working on it for 2 1-2 years -- seem to be resistant to new ideas. I like dealing with teen-agers a lot more than I like dealing with adults. I find it hard, because I know they're trying to do what's best, and I hate to drop into Cartman's "Respect Mah Authority," because that's just childish.
4. I also fell on the ice in the parking lot, but I am learning to fall effectively, so not a lot of damage, but I do expect a good bruise. The day was saved because I finished the book I was listening to (next item), and two SCA friends are staying over tonight, and I was able to make a steak and potatoes dinner.
5. Strong book recommendation. I listened to it on CD, but it was a fascinating story. Three guys spending a year trying to see every bird possible in North America.

Rhi, have you read this?
